I’m a registered member in good standing with The College of Massage Therapists of Ontario. I began my journey in massage when I experienced an injury to my neck and shoulders which left me in unbearable pain. After visiting an RMT for treatment, I knew that I wanted to learn more about massage and the positive effects it has on your body.

I truly believe massage therapy plays a key role in dealing with many of life’s stressors and is essential for long-term health and wellness. My treatments are client focused and include an assessment to help determine specifically what each client requires to achieve optimal results. During treatments I focus on postural and structural alignment, the myofascial structure of the body, pain relief, relaxation, stress management and therapeutic exercise. I also offer other modalities and techniques, including cupping, Cranial Sacral Therapy, pregnancy & infant massage. I love meeting new clients and working with them to reduce stress, pain and to improve their health. I’m always looking to learn new skills that will help me treat a variety of issues within the body and understand how important it is to stay current with the ever evolving field of health care. When I’m not working, I have a passion for baseball & staying active. I also enjoy outdoor activities, paddle boarding, watching movies and spending time with family and friends.

I started my career as a Registered Massage Therapist in 2001 after graduating from Sir Sandford Fleming College.  I felt the best I ever had during my course—at first I didn’t connect the dots, but being massaged every week was suddenly affecting me in so many positive ways!  I was sleeping better, aches and pains were not as persistent and best of all, the headaches I had dealt with for years were starting to decrease in amount and severity.  I was amazed with these changes in myself and am always happy when I hear that I’ve helped other people achieve their own personal goals and positive changes.

I have worked in a wide variety of settings over the past 20 years;  chiropractic offices, physiotherapy clinics, Ste. Anne’s Spa, mobile massage and I have also worked out of my home.  These have been such vastly different atmospheres but the one thing that stays constant is the benefit of massage, especially on a regular basis.  Chronic pain, inflammation, headaches, insomnia, blood pressure and circulation issues are all things that have been proven to improve with massage therapy treatment.  I would love to work with you on a plan to help reach your wellness goals.

When I’m not working, my three kids keep me very busy!  I love music and concerts, basketball and animals.  I am almost always found with a smile on my face and I am really looking forward to meeting you!

I’m a Registered Massage Therapist who has been practicing massage therapy since 2014. I’m very motivated about helping others get started on their individual healing journey. I’m confident and ambitious in my practice with experience in treating a wide variety of musculoskeletal conditions linked to sports, injuries and chronic pain different lifestyles bring. My treatments consist of a whole mind- body approach, incorporating Swedish massage techniques for relaxation and stress management, deep tissue, trigger point therapy, cupping and mindful individual guidance to move better everyday in order to achieve a positive pain free outcome in our treatments. I do believe that movement is medicine and it is something I hold to high standard to myself and others. Together we will increase relaxation, decrease pain and increase range of motion. With my fitness background and extensive knowledge of remedial exercises it allows me to help my clients manage both acute and chronic pain with consistency in and out of the treatment room.

Aside from Massage Therapy, I am a coach, student and active competitive member in Muay Thai for 10+ years. I’m very passionate about living a very healthy and active lifestyle, and I’m eager to share my knowledge and professional skills with my clients.

Covering for Alison’s maternity leave

I am a 2022 graduate of Centennial College’s Massage Therapy program with Honours and am excited to finally be a Registered Massage Therapist. Becoming a Massage Therapist is something that I’ve wanted to do since I was 17. Life took me in a different direction and I ended up pursuing a different career – but my love for anatomy and movement never disappeared. In 2018 I became a Yoga teacher, and the training reinvigorated the passion that I have for understanding how the body moves. When the pandemic hit, I saw an opportunity to finally turn that passion into a career.

Practicing restorative yoga allowed me to explore the connection between the mind and body. I’ve experienced the mental benefits of allowing the body to move and rest, and how beneficial physical treatments can be on the mind. Seeing the impact mental health conditions like anxiety and depression can have on the physical body ignited an interest in continuing my education so that I can better understand how massage therapy can help treat a variety of conditions.

“The single most important issue for traumatized people is to find a sense of safety within their bodies.” (Bessel van der Kolk). This has been a guiding quote for me throughout my education in massage therapy thus far, and I feel strongly that to find any healing – whether an acute injury like a strained muscle, or chronic condition like increased muscle tension – the ability to feel safe is paramount for the brain to allow the body to heal itself. I provide a calm and inviting space to allow the body and mind to feel safe and relaxed. I have widespread interest in treating all conditions from sprains and strains to chronic pain and muscle tightness. I use a variety of techniques such as Swedish massage, trigger point therapy and active/passive stretching to mobilize soft tissue, allowing the body a chance to rest so it can heal itself.

Outside of massage, I try to find moments of peace and stillness whether that’s doing yoga, reading a book or spending time outside with my family. I prioritize moving my body through yoga, kickboxing, hiking and weight training.

If you have any questions, I’d love to hear from you! You can contact me, Emily Tippins RMT, directly through email at emilytippins.rmt@gmail.com, or at (905) 550-4465.

I am constantly eager to expand my knowledge of the human body, with a big interest in studying movement and the relationships between pain, functional limitations, decreased mobility, and postural impairments.
